About The Book

Life is kind of funny sometimes. Well, in Reality, life is funny all of the time, if you let it be. I think each and every one of us has an identity of ourselves in which we will hold on tight. There are those times, though, where we have an idea about doing something outside of our identity. We might even mention it to others, but we never pursue that idea we had.

I can tell you that reading was one of my least favorite activities. Well, to be honest, I hated reading. So, what would posses me to write a book? I love to speak publicly. And more than speaking publicly, I like to speak about the passions that I hold dear; those passions being the TRUTH. I was raised to believe it was better to tell the truth than to lie. This might explain why I am not a very private person. I am willing to share information about myself that most others will not. It is not that I think other people really care about my personal “stuff,” it is just that I think most people try to hide the struggles, pain and success they might have or experienced. I feel if I can bring down the walls myself, others will open up and we can now be open to changes.

During some of these public speaking opportunities, I would love to get into real numbers about living and retiring, budgets and bills. I love talking to people about finances and investing. I guess to make it simple - I have always loved the discussion about money.

I started talking about the Illusions that our society holds about needing a college degree to “make it.” One day I mention that I should write a book on that subject and explain the truth (Reality) in simple terms to people. Then I say, “I am going to write a book about the subject”. Then I tell another person and another. Soon, I told so many people that I had to write a book about the subject. If I say I am going to do something, I will do it.

I soon began the process of gathering information for this book. I was going to call it The College Myth. I sat down and started typing. Since I had no idea how I was going to do this, I started typing “my story,” if for no other reason, my kids would know their father better by reading about my life and why I raised them the way I have. As I was typing, the book took on a life of its own. I started telling more and more friends that I am writing a book. Soon, I had told so many people that I had to finish it.

This book speaks to my passions…I am tired of the daily Illusions and somebody needed to set the record straight for regular people (people like me).

About Sean

Sean had spent 19 years working in industrial sales. During those years he achieved great success and was at the top of his profession. However, that was not his true passion. When Sean was a child he always wondered how people "got ahead." He thought of saving, investing and how the "system" really worked. Always the inquisitive type, Sean never accepted what was taught to be factual. This included religious, political, financial and everyday life subjects.

Knowing he did not want to be in industrial sales forever, but being handicapped by his income, Sean studied at night and during his spare time to get his Series 6 and 63 securities licences. What better way to replace his income than helping others save and invest and getting paid to do so. While he did not maintain his licences, the knowledge he gained about the industry was invaluable.

Having written this book, Sean has given everyone the foundation in which to build their financial future. He is not a financial advisor or a financial planner. Sean is really a financial artist. He can paint a picture like no one else has been able to do.

Both humorous and hard hitting at the same time, Sean sheds the light on the ILLUSIONS in order to give you the REALITIES of the "system."
